WOLVERHAMPTON SUNDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 10th APRIL

All the latest news for the Wolverhampton Sunday 6-a-side League direct from Khalsa Academy.

Another great evening in the Khalsa Academy Wolverhampton Sunday League. Unfortunately we did have one non attendance as 'Staffordshire Seagulls' were not present for there fixture. They have confirmed there return after the Easter break after complications getting to the game this past week. It is paramount that teams are there for there fixtures each and every week and if there are complications get a team out you contact your Area Manager as soon as you possibly can.

Unfortunately we also had some disciplinary issues during and after the game between 'OutOnBale' and 'ZeroTolerance'. A late challenge by one of the 'ZeroTolerance' players early in the game was not liked by an 'OutOnBale' player and before the referee could go over and sin bin the player in question a player from 'OutOnBale' decided to swing a punch at his opponent. Although the player missed this type of behaviour is unacceptable at the league and the player in question has been fined £20 and permanently banned from the league. In the aftermath of this game one of the 'ZeroTolerance' players decided to throw a punch at the player in question which led to quite unsavoury scenes that got in the way of the two teams playing in the next game. The player from 'ZeroTolerance' that threw a punch is also getting the same £20 fine and permanent ban. It is important that all teams remain within the rules of the league and it is important to remember that any disciplinary issues will be dealt with swiftly and accordingly. As always any questions about this incident then please contact your Area Manager.

In more positive news, the game of the week from the Khalsa Academy Sunday league was played in the best spirits with an extremely close score line. The game was won 3-2 by 'Eyes On The Fries' against 'Angry Birds FC'. This was an extremely close game in which neither team knew what the outcome was going to be, however 'Eyes On The Fries' did not give in and managed to get the vital extra goal as 'Angry Birds FC' put up an excellent fight against their key rivals in the table. This will leave them disappointed, but hopefully hungry to come back next week and gain the victory against there next opponents. This was a well-orchestrated win for 'Eyes On The Fries' with the MVP being Garry Baker with an influential performance.

'Eyes On The Fries' are also our team of the evening after the fine performance above. Some of the attacking display was by far the best of the evening as well as a more than tidy defensive display only conceding two goals. We look forward to seeing if they can put in a similar performance against '50 Shades Of Andy Gray' after the Easter break.

The league is now off for Easter Sunday and will resume again on Sunday 24th April 2022. We would like to wish teams and there families a very happy Easter and look forward to seeing you all when the league returns.
