WOLVERHAMPTON SUNDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 20th FEBRUARY

A fantastic evening of 6-a-side football in the Wolverhampton Sunday League. The only team not their were 'Warstones FC' after giving the required 7 days notice needed to cancel a fixture. They have confirmed there return next week and we look forward to seeing them back this week.

The league provided plenty of entertainment as all teams fought hard to try and pickup results. However, there could only be one game of the week, this was the game between 'BXLLERS CLXB' and 'Angry Birds FC' where an exciting game of football could only be separated by 3 goals at full time. Both teams stuck it out playing attacking football in order to get the victory. It was 'BXLLERS CLXB' who missed out on the points in this encounter with 'Angry Birds FC' winning the game 5-2 largely thanks to a wonderful hattrick from Deepak Rana. They now sit in 7th place after this result.

Team of the evening has to be given to 2nd placed 'Bench Odds XI' after their impressive win over 'Portugal' in a game where they showed complete dominance and unleashed their true goal scoring capability. This included an extra special performance from Shaun Griffin as he showed his footballing ability managing to score 7 goals against the opposition. This talented performance has also left him top of the goal scoring table at the mid season stage with 17 goals.
